Artist’s Morning View

Lilting lilies lull her eye
with lyric necks of stems.
Peering through their arching green tresses,
a sensuous echo of clouds explodes
in a saunter of silent sound
rolling across extensive blue exteriors.

Dabbing her brush,
rich silhouettes sing simplicity
in shining shocks of color.
She paints the morning’s alliteration
to counter the lull of lilies.

  1. I find it amazing that the mere mention of the word “alliteration” can sprout such incredible imagery in every poem written for this prompt, Bren. Yours is no exception. The artist hidden paints with intricate stroke with a master touch! Well done.

  2. Your poem is a feast, Brenda! Words and sounds explode on the page! Your alliteration is gorgeous: “rich silhouettes sing simplicity.” Loved your last lines: “She paints the morning’s alliteration to counter the lull of lilies.”
